ROCK n' METAL
This happens to be my favorite category of music, but not necessarily the one I listen to the most. I have a lot of memories that will stick with me through this music including high school football, concerts, best friends, and nothing works better in the weight room.
I think the thing that stands out the most, is the very thing most parents say they can't understand...the lyrics!!!! "What the heck is that guy screaming? Why is he so angry?" When I go back and update this page I'll be sure to include links to lyrics of some of these musicians...perhaps if the music is taken out, the deep poetic messages about life may standout better. Regardless of what anyone says or thinks, these are some of the bands that have stood out in my mind.
Metallica
Concerts: July , 1996 Winnebago County
Fairgrounds Rockford, IL

This was my first concert ever!!!! Lollapalooza at Winnebago County Fairgrounds. Sid got tickets way in advance(Thank you Siddiq) and I almost came back with my family to Michigan and would have ended up missing the show. All I know is, Tati, Fatima Apa, Sid, Maliha Apa, and myself had the best time and knowing Maliha Apa was getting married a couple of days later helped cap a fantastic summer. Oh, Soundgarden was there too! I'll never forget Rosco at Fawad Pupa's either..right Sid?

Auburn Hills, MI

Here's the second concert of my life....Sid promised he'd show up and I wasn't sure he was gonna be there. I really wasn't. I cleaned the house and got everything set. I was under the indication he was trying to get a flight but for some reason I felt there was something holding him back. I didn't know what it was, but it didn't matter cause his mom called me early that evening and told me that Sid got on the flight and pretty soon we were gonna be on our way to the show. I remember him telling me, "I told you I'd be there." I shouldn't have doubted him. Corrosion of Conformity opened for them and then the boyz came out and played a fantastic set. We had great side view seats of the whole stage. I still remember us singing back every lyric and jumping around in our crowded little space. Even Ted Nugent showed up and jammed with the band. This show was so good we had to do it again.

Lo and behold I got us tickets to the second show. We had nose bleed seats, but moved to an aisle where we jammed the night away. I don't think it beat the first show, but not knowing when we'll see them again we had to make our move and go. Thanks for coming Sid, how bout we do it again?
Megadeth - never saw a Megadeth show but thanx to my buddy Saleem, I waited in line for hours and got their autographs on cd. Thanks for coming through for me bud, I'll never forget it!
Creed
Gotta love Creed. Scott Stapp has been known to write some really deep lyrics on life. You can feel the religious influence in his life, even though he isn't specific. I just wish the radios didn't play them so much. I'll never forget the show I went to, cause it was with my little brother Esa. The pyrotechnics, video, and sound just blew us away.
August, 2000 DTE Energy Center
Clarkston, MI

Live
January , 2000 State Theater Detroit, MI
We were in the Front Row! Lil bro's first show...he got a guitar pick, drum stick, and got to high-five Ed! Not bad lil bro! Also with us was Omar A. and Mamujan. It was a fantastic show! I think Esa had the best time and managed to save my from this big fat scary lady! Thanx bud!
Matchbox 20
February, 2001 Palace of Auburn Hills Auburn Hills, MI
Lifehouse opened for em. The sound wasn't that great, but Esa and I definitely enjoyed the show. It was weird being one of the only fans knowing all their lyrics.
Three Doors Down
August, 2000 Clutch Cargos Pontiac, MI
Now these boyz are awesome! They were supposed to open up for Creed, but the concert was canceled. So these boyz played a show in Pontiac for 5 bucks! We got to meet the band afterwards and got all of their autographs. I was passing out flyers for GIT...here's the proof! Again, Esa Baba was there by my side. It was cool going to a small venue to watch a band, but that place sux! Don't recommend people should go watch anyone perform there...actually, I don't recommend anyone go there period!
